Prominent blogger and senior analyst Niko Partners Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) commented on the situation around the publisher CD Projekt… It’s about a raw release Cyberpunk 2077…
The expert focused on refuting the theory popular on the Web, according to which “greedy” investors allegedly put pressure on the “unfortunate” company management, forcing the release of the game in a terrible technical condition. Instead, the shareholders allegedly had to give the developers an additional few months to polish.
However, Ahmad explained that the industry does not work that way. The situation developed as follows:
- investors ask CD Projekt what the status of the development is and whether they are ready to release the project this year;
- studio management declares that everything is going according to plan, although in reality nothing is ready
- a raw version is released;
- defrauded investors sit in shock.
This opinion is only confirmed by numerous statements by the company’s management, which were heard at meetings with shareholders, as well as in media interviews. In particular, the developers have stated that they “have no problems” with the versions of Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox One and PS4.
But after the release at CD Projekt, RED openly admitted that they paid “not enough” attention to the ports of the game on the previous generation consoles. That is why several law firms in the USA and Poland are preparing class actions against the Polish publishing house at once, accusing it of fraud and deception.
