Blitzkrieg on Steam – review

According to Roskomnadzor military strategy Strategic Mind: Blitzkrieg It has “clear signs of Nazism rehabilitation“,”forms participants loyalty to Nazism and war criminals, belittles the exploits of the Soviet people in the fight against Nazi invaders and is actually aimed at reviewing the results of the Second World War“.

Head of Ukrainian studio Starni games announced that by the decision of Roskomnadzor Strategic Mind: Blitzkrieg can no longer be bought in Steam on Russian territory. However, it remains available in Gogthat, according to the studio, creates “conditions for unfair competition“.

The authors of Blitzkrieg claim that they showed Hitler and Goering as negative characters who commit crimes, and the players have the mission to put an end to them and form a new, democratic government in Germany. In addition, all prohibited characters in the game are changed.

We do not claim that “the USSR lost the war” or “German troops captured Moscow.” We created a work of art in which we showed what could have happened if it had happened. And judging by the negative reaction of some people, we were able to show how sad the consequences of the events shown in the game would be if they really happened.

This can be regarded as an anti-Nazi statement condemning the actions of the National Socialists. Or at least as ordinary fiction.

The Ukrainian studio claims that after the decision of Roskomnadzor and blocking the game, the number of illegal downloads increased. Full objections from the head of the studio regarding the letter of Roskomnadzor can be found on the game’s page on Steam.
