Americans told movies on what game series they want to see

Edition Editorial Hollywood reporter and company Morning consult conducted among Americans a survey on the adaptations of video games. As a result, it turned out that most of all, viewers want to see a film about a mustachioed plumber Mario and his friends – adaptation took first place with 44% of the vote Super mario bros.

In the early nineties, a film about Mario was already released on large screens, but it had little to do with the original source and failed miserably. Only in recent years, Nintendo has become more willing to license the images of its heroes for third-party projects and gave the company Universal pictures green light on the creation of a full-length animated film based on Super Mario.

Unlike most of the films on game licenses created without the involvement of the authors of the source, the father of the franchise takes an active part in the development of the film project about Mario Shigeru Miyamoto. He is producing the tape with the head of the Illumination studio. Chris Meledanri. The project is funded by Nintendo and Universal Studios. The premiere is expected in 2023.
