It has already been confirmed that the new part of “Stalker” will not be released on the platforms of the old generation, and in one of the recent interviews for the GamingBolt portal Gsc game world explained why this is so. According to the studio, they didn’t want to limit themselves to outdated hardware, so S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is created as a full-fledged nextgen title that cannot be played on Xbox One or PlayStation 4…
In the same conversation, GSC stated that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be a “very long game”… According to the studio, even completing one main quest will not be a quick walk, and with active exploration of the world and completing side tasks, the project can easily drag on for several hundred hours.
At the moment, “Stalker 2” is announced only for the Xbox Series X / S and PC. Designed with the new Xbox in mind, the game will offer support for fast downloads, ray-traced effects, and frame rates of up to 120 FPS… The Series X version will work in 4K…
GSC previously confirmed that plans to release S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on PS5 not now.
The release date has not yet been disclosed, but if you believe the documents laid out on the network Microsoft, the game may be released in the fourth quarter of this year.
