Sony has announced the final release date for its highly anticipated exclusive The Last of Us Part II. The game, according to which over the past couple of days there have been massive leaks, will be released on June 19.
However, the publisher postponed the release of another potential hit of the platform – Ghost of Tsushima. The Sucker Punch project will be released July 17, 2023.
Along with the announcement of the dates, an open letter from the head of SIE Worldwide Studios Herman Hülst appeared on the official PlayStation blog.
The manager writes that the company had to adapt to work in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as adapt to constantly changing circumstances.
“As the development teams at Sony Interactive Entertainment and Worldwide Studios approach the final stages of work and are rebuilt in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are forced to adapt to the new reality and constantly changing circumstances. In this regard, we consider it important to share with the PlayStation players updated information on the release of our exclusives on the PlayStation 4 “.
Hulst thanked the staff of both studios and congratulated them on reaching the finish line.
“I want to personally thank the Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions teams for their work and congratulations on the success. After all, we all know how difficult it was to reach the finish line in the new reality. Both teams have made every effort to create world-class games, and now we look forward to the moment when in a couple of months the players will be able to experience everything themselves. ”
