Mortal Kombat on the PS3 was left without an online game. Developers cut online features on Xbox 360 and PC

Publishing house Wb games announced disconnection on Playstation 3 fighting servers Mortal kombat 9 in connection with “changes in the work of the company’s network services”. All offline game modes, including the storyline campaign, are still available without restrictions.

On the Xbox 360 and PC servers continue to work however function Message of the day from today is no longer available.

The news came two days after the removal of Mortal Kombat 9 c sale in Steam. The developers did not give an official comment on this matter, while the Valve store limited itself to the standard wording “deleted at the request of the publisher”.

It is believed that the reason could be problems with licensing guest character Freddy Krueger, since the rights to him last year were partially returned to the heirs of the creator “Nightmares on Elm Street“Wes Craven, however, this does not explain why the game and downloadable content for it, including the standalone DLC with Kruger, still available for purchase on consoles.

Mortal Kombat 9 debuted in 2011 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, in 2012 it acquired a version for PS Vita, and a year later it got to the PC.
