Outside Marvel and DC there is still a superhero life. And I’m not talking about green newcomers like Major Thunder, but about the company created in 1992 Valiant comics character Bloodshotwho received seven volumes of adventure, and then a full-fledged movie from Sony pictures.
The story tells the story of the marine Ray Harrison, who performs the most difficult tasks for the US Army, but after another sortie, along with his beautiful wife, is captured by a mad terrorist. Having not received the necessary information, the villain brutally cracked down on a couple.
Fortunately for Ray, he is saved by the PRS organization, which has long been experimenting with nanotechnology and advanced prosthetics. The company’s specialists are implanting thousands of microbots into the body of the marine, which instantly suture damaged tissues and restore the body in real time, enhancing muscle potential tens of times.
As a result, Ray becomes almost immortal – a sort of hybrid of Wolverine, Ryden and Vamp from Metal gear solid. Firearms, cutting wounds and serious burns simply do not have time to kill him: nanomachines work wonders. They also allow him to get wireless access to the Internet and the ability to remotely hack even the most complex systems.
Naturally, with new abilities, he begins his revenge, but as a result he realizes that everything is much more complicated than it seemed at first glance.
The story of the “Bloodshot” is furnished in the style of classic action movies with a strong male hero who easily breaks through reinforced concrete structures. Gently adding elements of cyberpunk, the plot remains primitive and gives to the boy fan-service, which is reinforced by the chic Asa Gonzalez.
52-year-old Vin Diesel is perfect for the role, even despite the fact that once again he plays the same Dominic. Superhero themes are not as active as in Spider-Man from the same Sony and Marvel paintings. Scriptwriters are trying to maintain a more realistic balance in science fiction, not forgetting about interesting twists, which, unfortunately, are not always served in the best way.
The creators of the picture go the beaten path of the original comics, and where it was possible to make your own “Oblivion” or “Start”, They bored and too quickly reveal the cards.
On the other hand, this allows the second half of the film to concentrate on a powerful action, which is accompanied by good sound from Steve Jablonski – one of the composers Gears of war. Modified people organize brutal showdowns with beautiful time dilation and spectacular pursuits – it looks cool, so I don’t even want to remember the unrealized potential of the story.
A good comedic character appears in the same place, which finally turns a potentially gloomy plot into a fun one-time blockbuster.
“Bloodshot”Is a fun action movie with elements of superhero fiction, which could be significantly better if the scriptwriters tried to twist the story harder. Nevertheless, cool battles and spectacular chases stretch the plot, but only if you like the genre. The rest can lower the final grade by one point. Most importantly, do not watch the trailers, as they spoil all the major turns.
