Harvey Weinstein convicted of sexual harassment

The New York City Jury found producer Harvey Weinstein guilty of sexual harassment.

In total, five charges were brought against Weinstein, but only two were considered valid of them. He was found guilty of first-degree criminal sexual harassment of former assistant Miriam Haley on Project Podium and of the third-degree rape against actress Jessica Mann.

A jury of twelve people delivered a verdict this Monday. The sentence to the former producer will be announced on March 11. He faces from 5 to 25 years on the first charge and from 18 months to 4 years on the second.

In addition, Weinstein has several more allegations in the Los Angeles County.

The trial began in early January, with six women attending, who accused Weinstein of sexual harassment. The scandal itself has been going on since October 2017, when the New York Times published an interview with actress Ashley Judd.
