Sony didn’t want a Spider-Man crossover in Into the Spider-Verse

One of the producers Spider-Man: Through the Universes remindedthat in due time Sony did not give the authors the go-ahead for a crossover between different Spiders from the films.
Reason for fasting Christopher Miller (“Macho and Botan”) served as a recent trailer, where different villains from the multiverse flashed. In addition, as it was known from various leaks, Parkers performed by Tobey Maguire with Andrew Garfield

Miller said last year that one of the authors’ ideas for the first part of the cartoon was the joint participation of the three Spiders from the films, as well as the Spider Pig. Then representatives of the studio said that it was “too early” for that.

It seems that the phrase “too early” is no longer relevant.

Apparently, the author was somewhat upset that a similar concept was not allowed to be implemented in the cartoon, having saved it for a full-length picture.

However, the studio probably hoped that in this format the crossover would bring great popularity. Judging by the huge number of views in one trailer, where other friendly neighbors hadn’t even flashed yet, she was right.

The release of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” will take place in the Russian box office on December 16, while the sequel to “Spider-Man: Through the Universes” will be released on October 22, 2023.
