Resident Evil Village made less scary than Resident Evil 7

In an interview Axios Gaming producer Resident evil village Tsuyoshi Kanda revealed that the upcoming horror was balanced to make it less scary than Resident evil 7
“When we develop the new Resident Evil, our goal is not always to make it more scary than the previous installment, but to find a balance to provide players with a frightening yet interesting experience.

Some of the feedback we received regarding Resident Evil 7 was that it was too scary to play. On the one hand, this is exactly what we were striving for, so this is a huge compliment for us, ”- Kanda.

However, the developers have nevertheless eased the tension curve in the Village so that players do not feel fear all the time. Kanda noted that people become immune to fear if they are constantly faced with a stressful situation or environment.

“For Resident Evil Village, we took a completely different approach with the openness of the village and the players not knowing what might be hiding behind the trees.

And moments of comfort act as a buffer to make sure people are not completely insensitive to horror. The save rooms you see frequently in many games in the series are a great example of where players can take a deep breath and know they are safe. ”- Canada.

The release of Resident Evil Village will take place on May 7 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC. Previously, a 60-minute demo was released on all platforms and will be available until May 10.
