YouTube tightens rules – ban will be for threats and insults in the video – review

Service YouTube updated rules for using your video hosting by adding a few points. The new usage policy includes several points that are supposed to protect users and reduce the level of aggression.

The bottom line is that from now on YouTube will remove videos, remove monetization or even block the channel for content that contains threats, insults or any kind of intolerance – based on belonging to a different race, gender or sexual minority.

Previously, the service already banned those who directly threatened violence or murder. Now the same will happen even for imitation. Simply put, if you replace the character’s face with the appearance of a real person and destroy the virtual character, and then publish the video on YouTube, then a strike or even a ban will fly.

A separate aspect is insults; for them, too, you can lose the video or the entire channel.

also in Google decided to arrange a “mass purge” of comments. All of the above rules will apply to them. The company said that in the third quarter of this year, more than 16 million “toxic” comments were deleted, and they expect that the new rules will increase this number.
