Xbox Series X / S will be able to delete parts of games to save space on SSD

Consoles Xbox series x and Xbox series s will allow you to delete parts of games to save space on internal storage. Jason Ronald, Xbox Program Management Director, spoke about the new handy feature in the latest episode of Larry Hribb’s podcast.

The function will allow more rational use of the internal memory of the set-top boxes. For example, if a shooter has a single player campaign, then after completing it, users will be able to delete the singleplayer part and leave only the multiplayer… The only caveat: the selective removal of game components will not be automatically available in all titles. The developers of each individual project will decide for themselves whether to add this feature or not

As a reminder, Xbox Series X will offer 1TB SSDs, of which only 802 GB… In turn, Series S has internal storage equal to 512 GB, but how many of them will be used for games is still unknown.

To expand memory, Microsoft has provided external cards. One such from Seagate for 1 TB will cost 19,270 rublesAt the same time, any third-party SSD or HDD is suitable for backward compatibility games.
