Microsoft revealed the list of processors with official support Windows 11 – the limited iron became an unpleasant surprise.
Processors Intel will only fit from the late 2017 release (8000 series and newer) – it doesn’t matter if it’s a Core i3, i5 or i7. Owners of the same Core i5-6600 and Core i7-7700 are out of luck. For a complete list of CPUs, visit the Microsoft website. With processors AMD the situation is even worse – the full list is here.
What is the reason for this selectivity is still unknown. Microsoft in its presentation pressed for increased security in Windows 11 – perhaps that is why the list is so limited. I wonder if something will change for the fall release.
