Windows 10 update “broke” the sound, and also caused BSoD and freezes – review

A few days ago, on February 27, Redmond released an optional KB4535996 update for Windows 10. However, many users rushed to install it, which caused a whole bunch of problems.

It turned out that at first the update did not want to be installed – after the reboot, the process reached 6%, after which it was interrupted. But particularly persistent users were still able to install it, after which other problems began.

As it turned out, the update brought with it freezes and a blue screen of death (BSOD), as well as problems with sound for cards Soundblaster. In the latter case, it turned out that the problem was related to incompatible drivers. In this case, everything is decided by removing the update.

It is important to note that in some cases, the system did not want to start at all after installation and reboot. The company has not yet commented on the situation.
