Last week Microsoft released a major update to Windows 10 May 2023 Update. And, as it turned out, it has a lot of problems. Among them – lack of compatibility with drives Intel Optane.
As noted, the presence of such an SSD on a computer does not allow you to install version 2004 during automatic updates. If you do the same with the utility Media creation tool, the system will update, but when you try to start the drive, errors will appear and, possibly, the performance of the PC as a whole will drop.
So far, the solution is to uninstall Intel Optane Pinning Explorer Extensions, disable Intel Optane and reboot. After that, you need to turn on the drive and restart the system again, although this is not a panacea.
Microsoft has not yet acknowledged the error, so hoping for a fix early.
