What Nintendo Showcased at E3 2023: Metroid Dread, Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp, WarioWare: Get It Together! – all announcements

Last evening the company Nintendo held her own 40-minute presentation at the digital exhibition E3 2023… It was focused on games coming to Switch in 2023, but there were some surprises. We’ve collected all the announcements and news from Nintendo Direct in one place

Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Nintendo)

Nintendo Confirms The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel Only In 2023… The developers did not go into details, limiting themselves to only a short gameplay teaser demonstrating some of the new abilities. It has only been confirmed that players will now be in the heavens of Hyrule.

The video, as expected, became the most popular and discussed segment of the Nintendo Direct. On the American channel Nintendo alone, he has already collected almost 3 million views and more than 200 thousand likes.

Metroid Dread (Nintendo)

Metroid Dread (aka Metroid 5) is the fifth installment of the main 2D Metroid series, for which franchise creator Yoshio Sakamoto is responsible. Not to be confused with the Metroid Prime line of 3D first-person adventure games, produced by Western studio Retro Studios.

Metroid Dread will be the first all-new 2D part of the franchise in 20 years after Metroid Fusion, which was released for the Game Boy Advance in 2002.

Metroid Dread was originally planned to be released on the Nintendo DS in the mid-2000s, but it never came out.

Following the success of Metroid: Samus Returns on Nintendo 3DS, which was created by Spanish studio MercurySteam under the supervision of Yoshio Sakamoto, Nintendo decided to continue working with the team to develop the series on Switch.

Shin Megami Tensei V (Atlus)

Atlus debuted Shin Megami Tensei V’s RPG gameplay for the first time on the Nintendo Switch and confirmed that it will launch simultaneously globally on November 12. Read more about the project here

New Brawler for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Nintendo)

Tekken’s Kazuya Mishima is joining the massive roster of the fighting game for Nintendo Switch, which has sold over 20 million copies. Details of the character will be presented on June 28.

Kazuya Mishima is the penultimate additional character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The latter is still kept secret.

WarioWare: Get It Together! (Nintendo)

WarioWare: Get It Together! is a new part of the WarioWare series, originated from the GameBoy Advance, which will offer a new selection of unusual micro-games. It will be released on September 10, 2023.

For the first time, two players will be able to play microgames together on the same screen in local mode by sharing the Joy-Con controllers. Pre-order from Nintendo eShop is now open.

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope (Ubisoft)

Ubisoft announced this game at its launch a few days earlier. This time, Mario and his friends will join forces with the bunnies to save the galaxy. Players will have to explore planets with bizarre inhabitants and even more bizarre secrets, stop mysterious evil and prevent the universe from plunging into chaos. Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2023.

Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp (Nintendo)

One of the most unexpected presentation announcements. Advance Wars is a series of turn-based tactical games created by the developers of Fire Emblem from the Japanese studio Intelligeny Systems. The first part came out on the Game Boy Advance, the second and third on the Nintendo DS.

Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp for Switch – remake of the Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising campaigns, the first two parts… It is handled by the American team WayForward Technologies, Inc.

In Advance Wars, the player leads land, air, and naval forces on the battlefield. He must destroy enemy troops, capture cities and military bases in order to achieve victory and peace. Terrain and weather have an impact on the course of events. The project will be released on December 3, 2023. Pre-order from Nintendo eShop starts today.

Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda (Nintendo)

As with last year’s Super Mario Anniversary, to mark the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, Nintendo will release a special version of the Game & Watch gaming system, which will offer three classic games Legend of Zelda: The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, as well as a Game & Watch special version of Vermin starring Link. Also waiting for you is a digital game clock inspired by The Legend of Zelda and a game timer in the style of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda goes on sale November 26.

Mario Party Superstars (Nintendo)

Mario Party Superstars is the second installment of the Mario Party series for Nintendo Switch, following the Super Mario Party released in 2018. It will offer five classic Nintendo 64-era game boards and a collection of 100 minigames from previous Mario Party chapters. All game modes can now be played online.

Mario Party Superstars arrives on Nintendo Switch on October 29th. It is already possible to pre-order from Nintendo eShop.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin (Capcom)

At the presentation, they once again recalled the imminent release of the role-playing game Monster Hunter Stories 2 by Capcom. This is a JRPG set in the Monster Hunter universe with a turn-based combat system and multiplayer mode. In addition to Switch, it will be released on PC.

The demo will be available in the eShop on June 25th. Progress will be carried over to the full version of the game, which will be released on July 9th.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania (Sega)

Sega will release Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania from the creators of Yakuza for the 20th anniversary of the Super Monkey Ball franchise. The game will offer over 300 updated levels from Super Monkey Ball, Super Monkey Ball 2 and Super Monkey Ball Deluxe, as well as 12 mini-games, a new mode, local multiplayer and online leaderboards.

The premiere is scheduled for October 5th. In addition to Switch, the game will be released on consoles Sony, Microsoft, as well as PC.

Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp (Spike Chunsoft)

A new part of the Danganronpa series in the style of board games.

“Explore Jabberwock Island, fight, collect money and upgrade your equipment. Then defeat the bosses and move to the next island. Go to a tropical resort this year with Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp,” the message says.

The game will be available as a standalone purchase from the eShop or as part of the Danganronpa Decadence Compendium.

Danganronpa Decadence (Spike Chunsoft)

Three Danganronpa classics are also coming to Nintendo Switch. The physical edition includes Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Anniversary Edition, as well as the new Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp.

Danganronpa Decadence is coming to Nintendo Switch this year.

Expansion Pass for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity (Nintendo)

With the purchase of the Expansion Pass for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity for 1,799 rubles, players will receive two waves of DLC as they are released.

Wave 1: Pulse of the Ancients will be released this month, and Wave 2: Guardian of Remembrance will be available at the end of November.

Pulse of the Ancients will add new weapons, serious enemies and a new character – a battle-hardened guardian.

The Guardian of the Remembrance will include new stories, new levels, additional characters, and new combat abilities for existing heroes.

Mario Golf: Super Rush (Nintendo)

Upon release on June 25th, this golf simulator will continue to surprise you with your favorite characters from the Mushroom Kingdom. The planned free updates will delight players with additional levels and new playable characters. Pre-order is already available on Nintendo eShop.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD (Nintendo)

Nintendo recalled that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is coming to Switch on July 16. This is the first re-release of the adventure game since its premiere on Wii in 2011. Also on sale are a Zelda and Skywing amiibo and a Joy-Con controller set in the High Sword and Hiley Shield colors. The game will be translated into Russian for the first time

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 (Activision)

Two legendary skateboarding simulators will be available on Nintendo Switch on June 25th. You can now pre-order the project from Nintendo eShop.

Just Dance 2023 (Ubisoft)

Get ready to dance in the new Just Dance chapter. The developers will offer 40 incendiary tracks, including “Level Up” by Ciara, “Believer” by Imagine Dragons and “Run the World (Girls)” by Beyoncé. If you subscribe to Just Dance Unlimited, you will have access to 700 songs. Just Dance 2023 launches on Nintendo Switch and other platforms on November 4th.

Two Point Campus (Sega)

In this exciting simulation from the creators of Two Point Hospital, you will build your own university and run it however you want. You will have many non-trivial tools at your disposal to take your educational empire to the next level. Two Point Campus will launch on Nintendo Switch and other platforms next year.

DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods – Part One (Bethesda)

Strange Brigade (Rebellion Developments)

Strange Brigade by Rebellion Developments was released on PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2018. It is now available on Nintendo Switch.

Astria Ascending (Dear Villagers)

Astria Ascending is a new RPG from Final Fantasy VII writer Kazushige Nojima and Vagrant Story composer Hitoshi Sakimoto. Dear Villagers will release it on September 30 at Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox series x, Xbox series s, Xbox one, Nintendo Switch and PC

Life is Strange (Square Enix)
