Western Digital presented WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD – the second solid state drive to receive official support PS5… Designed “for unprecedented performance,” PCIe 4.0 connectivity and read / write speeds of up to 70 GB / s and 53 GB / s respectively (1 TB model).
SSD prices are similar to those from Seagate:
- 500 GB – $ 140 (10 thousand rubles);
- 1 TB – $ 250 (18 thousand rubles);
- 2 TB – $ 430 (31 thousand rubles).
However, it should be noted that the WD_BLACK SN850 comes with a heatsink, unlike the Seagate variant.
The prices for the FireCuda 530v with heatsink are as follows:
- SSD 500 GB – $ 170 (12 thousand rubles);
- SSD for 1 TB – $ 275 (20 thousand rubles);
- SSD 2 TB – $ 570 (42 thousand rubles);
- 4 TB SSD – $ 1050 (77 thousand rubles).
Sony yesterday released specifications for compatible SSDs and allowed beta testers to install them inside the PS5.
Recommended Russian prices for WD_BLACK SN850 without heatsink (as of July):
- 500 GB – 10,990 rubles;
- 1 TB – 17,990 rubles;
- 2 TB – 38,990 rubles.
