Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III

That ancient artifact was brought to salvation
Dawn of War III opens with a CGI movie that represents the quintessence of what the dark universe of Warhammer 40,000, with huge Orcha-led mecha cutting into two human soldiers, Space Marine platoons from the squared jaw that emerge from the fog with the shotguns and an Eldar Spettrocustode that stands out on the horizon as tall as a three-story building, all packed with blood streams and human and alien particles that detach themselves from the bodies while the carcasses of the fallen accumulate on the battlefield .
Like its predecessors, Dawn of War III focuses mainly on the online component, but with all that testosterone fired from the first frames, the singleplayer campaign had the task and the duty to stage an epic adventure, and so it was : unlike the vast majority of RTS, Dawn of War III enjoys a very high level writing, perhaps only half a step below compared to that much exalted by StarCraft .
As in Dawn of War II, the protagonists are again the Bloody Cows, guided for the occasion by their captain Gabriel Angelos. This time the Space Marines are not alone, because the campaign also focuses on the events of the Eldar and the seer Macha, and on the usual power struggles between the Orki warlords, where the figure of Gorgutz emerges.
Even though it was obvious that the three roads would soon be interwoven, the first half of the campaign is largely a slice of daily life in Warhammer 40,000 and the quest for the Khaine Lancia is deliberately wrapped up in the mystery: the Eldar are clinging to their Conscious prophecies, betrayal and power games, Space Marines are real war machines ready to challenge the Inquisitor even to save his honor and brothers,Dawn of War IIIhas the great merit of presenting three factions not only well characterized by the gaming mechanics but also the narrative aspect, thus also allowing those who do not mast much of Warhammer 40,000 to passionate about the events of Eldar, humans and Orki.
Apparently, Relic Entertainment did not learn from its past mistakes, because in the twenty or so hours needed to complete the campaign, many names of heroes and battles of the past are listed, but above all, a series of characters are said to burst little to the non-passionate, since their background is not explained practically anything and it is difficult to combine the various dots if you do not have the best of Warhammer 40,000: the same Gabriel Angelos,Dawn of War III puts them on the stage with no introduction.
If in the first acts the Khaine Lancia, an ancient artifact buried inside the planet Acheron, is only the background to the story, the final becomes the true protagonist of the story, with the three factions intending to seize the powerful weapon: for obvious reasons spoilers not all details will be mentioned here, but be aware that in the last missions, the campaign takes on ever more epic and solemn tones, what a real Warhammer 40,000 should always be, a story of betrayal, sacrifice, fake and the fight against evil common and bigger.
