V1 Interactive Founded by Halo Co-Creator Closes After Disintegration Failure

Founded by a co-author Halo by Marcus Lehto team V1 Interactive officially announced it would be closed less than a year after the disastrous shooter was released Disintegration, which became the studio’s debut project.

In a statement posted to Twitter, V1 Interactive thanked the staff for their work and expressed gratitude to all the fans who supported them after the game was announced. It is reported that the studio management has notified all 30 existing workers in advance about the impending closure and is providing support in finding new jobs.

The first V1 game, the shooter Disintegration, launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in June 2023. However, the project was unable to hook the audience after the release and almost immediately “died”. In November, the developers turned off the multiplayer server, citing the lack of interest in it from the players.

Disintegration takes place about 150 years into the future, when in order to avoid the threat of extinction, many people “integrated” their brains into robots. The shooter’s gameplay focuses on piloting combat gravity bikes while commanding up to four AI ground soldiers at the same time.
