Earlier this month, we covered how netizen Krollywood recreated in the map editor Far cry 5 all levels of first person shooter GoldenEye 007released back in 1997 on the Nintendo 64.
Krollywood has spent about 1400 hours on his project over 2.5 years, but now the enthusiast said that he received an email from Ubisoft… The company said it had to remove all levels following a copyright complaint from MGM…
Ubisoft spokesman confirmed Kotakuthat the levels were removed after the copyright holder’s complaint. Krollywood, in turn, noted that it retained the result of its work, so it may try to re-fill the levels by changing some of the names if it has a legal way to do it.
Last year, MGM already demanded to stop development of the GoldenEye 007 fan-made frame on Unreal Engine 4, which was planned to be released for the 25th anniversary of the shooter. Then the authors decided that they would turn all their developments into an original game.
