“Our creative team has been looking for a modern embodiment of the mischievous hero for a long time, more than 30 variations of the image were created. It was important to find a balance of character traits, as well as to maintain continuity with the classic version: for example, our Hare has the same eye color,” said the general producer “Soyuzmultfilm” Yulia Osetinskaya.
Compared to the original animated series, in the restart, the artists changed the shape of the Hare’s ears, removed the long mustache and added a hairstyle. The hero’s clothes have also been updated. Now the character will sport rolled-up gray pants and a blue polo shirt, while the modern look is emphasized by a smart wristwatch.
In addition to the Hare, Soyuzmultfilm also showed its final appearance Wolfwhose concept art appeared on the web back in June… It will be voiced Garik Kharlamov…
“If you look at our Wolf, you will see much more broken, pointed lines, but the image of the Hare, as opposed to it, is soft, rounded along the contours. On the one hand, this is a very cute character, but not without its inherent cunning and resourcefulness”, – said the director of the film studio Boris Mashkovtsev.
As previously announced, the new animated series will retain the gagged comedy genre, but will not be a direct sequel to the classic “Just You Wait!” Viewers will find an up-to-date reading of the story in quasi-3D format and new supporting characters – Tim the badger, Shu the hedgehog and Ulya the roe deer. At the moment, they plan to release 52 new episodes. The first will be shown in December this year.
