Tom Holland on Uncharted: It’s a Mixture of Indiana Jones and James Bond

While Tom Holland has already achieved great success in Hollywood with his role as Spider-Man, the actor is about to lead another potentially major franchise – the film Uncharted based on the series of games of the same name for the PlayStation consoles, where he got the role of Nathan Drake. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, he described the upcoming film as a cross between Indiana Jones and James Bond

“I think the easiest way to describe the film, in no way belittling it, is as if Indiana Jones and James Bond had a baby, it would be Nathan Drake. That’s how I continue to describe it.”

Interestingly, Tom Holland described Nathan Drake as half-Bond. Previously, the actor expressed his desire to play 007 in future tapes of the franchise

The actor also talked about filming Uncharted action scenes. which, as he admitted, turned out to be more difficult for him than in the films about “Spider-Man”

“It was an amazing experience and it turned out to be much more challenging than I thought it was. This film is completely different from what I’m used to. Playing Peter Parker is like playing a version of yourself, just a little younger, and Nathan Drake is not at all similar to me, and obviously older than me. But during the process there was a lot of fun, I really liked it. Did a few tricks, which I am very proud of. “

The adaptation of Ucnharted will be a prequel to the games from Naughty Dog. In addition to Holland, Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Banderas, Sofia Taylor Ali and Tati Gabri’l starred in the film. The director was Ruben Fleischer.

Theatrical premiere of the film is scheduled for 11 February 2023
