In particular, edition VGC reported today that some time ago Konami outsourced the next game in the Silent Hill series to a renowned Japanese developer… According to journalists, the speech exactly is not about Hideo Kojima and his Kojima Productions, and the presentation of the project is supposed to take place this summer.

Some sources add that the Japanese project is meant as a departure from the past parts of Silent Hill, while there is a possibility that another game in the series from another studio is in development.

I wrote about this in 2023 and now again repeated insider Dusk golemand knowledgeable VGC informants add that Konami previously contacted the authors of Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures from Supermassive games with a proposal to reboot Silent Hill. According to them, the studio did not sign up for the project, but given the fresh hints from the Bloober Team, it is quite possible that instead of Supermassive, it was they who ended up doing the second game.

Either way, rumors of a Silent Hill return have been circulating for over a year. The publications appear clearly not without foundation. Konami has not confirmed anything yet.
