Ronald spoke about this as part of the latest release of the official Xbox podcast, of which he became a guest.

Ronald noted that after the launch of the Xbox Series X and S last November, his team took an extended hiatus. He saw it as an opportunity to “sit back and just listen to the community,” and see what they liked about the new consoles and what things could be improved. Now that the team is back from vacation, they are starting to release updates.
