Few days ago online information appeared about a major announcement, which, according to one of the editors of the magazine Famitsu, should “stir up the whole industry“Then the author hinted that the upcoming news was somehow related to the company Sega. And as it turned out, this is true.
The “sensational news” was a cloud service – Fog gamingthat Sega is working on right now. True, her undertaking is noticeably different from existing analogues on the market in one fact – “Foggy” the platform is designed exclusively for projects with Japanese arcade machines.
According to preliminary data, the main idea of the entire system is as follows: Fog Gaming will use the computing resources of “idle” arcade machines in various halls and direct them to support the streaming service. Sega itself has over 70 arcade centers throughout Japan.
