The first monitor with support for HDMI 2.1 is preparing for release – review

Today, video cards and monitors use the HDMI 2.0 connection standard. However startup EVE Technology already started collecting pre-orders for the monitor Spectrumwhich is equipped with two HDMI 2.1 connectors.

The new connection option provides video transmission in 4K resolution with a frequency of 120 Hz or 8K at 60 Hz. Thus, this is a challenge for the future, because future Sony and Microsoft consoles will support 4K at a frequency of over 60 Hz. It may also appear in future graphics cards.

The new monitor is equipped with a matrix diagonal of 27 inches and is presented in three versions:

  • 1440r @ 144 Hz
  • 1440r @ 240 Hz
  • 4K @ 144 Hz.

Spectrum based on nano-IPS manufacturing matrices LG Display with a response time of 1 ms. The brightness is 650 nits, which is significantly higher than analogues, coverage of 98% of the DCI-P3 color space (100% sRGB) and 10-bit color are also claimed.

Monitors use adaptive sync technology FreeSync Premium and claimed G-Sync compatibility. Of the little things, we note two DisplayPort 1.4, a headphone jack and a hub for three USB 3.1.

The price starts from 389 euros (31 thousand rubles) for the younger model, the average is estimated at 529 euros (41 thousand rubles), and the top one – 629 euros (50 thousand rubles). You can save a little more than 7000 rubles if you do not take the stand.
