The expert called the smartphone a rudiment that humanity will no longer use in 10 years

Director of Digital Products Veon Group George Held states that in 10 years people will stop using smartphones, and the rudimentary device will be replaced by more advanced technologies.

The specialist noted that at present, a mobile phone is used primarily for human authentication and information retrieval. However, personality can be identified differently, for example, by face, fingerprint and voice. Information can be shown using a projection onto the eyes, glass or wall, or an IoT (Internet of Things) sensor.

“The grandmother, who is lost in the city center, will not need to call anywhere: she can ask the wall“ How can I get home? ”And the wall will show her the route with an arrow,” says Held.

The top manager of Veon, who previously oversaw this direction at VimpelCom (the Beeline brand, part of Veon), considers the smartphone to be a dead-end technology. Held himself is in favor of experimentation, but he is sure that “many of the technologies are not needed for anything.”
