The developer of the official patch for the PC version of Saints Row 2 died – Igromania

The senior community developer of the studio has died Volition Mike Watson, also known as IdolNinja. The cause of death was cancer in the fourth stage, with which the developer fought for over a year. Former Volition employee Ryan McCabe told about it.

The official patch for the PC version of Saints Row 2 was announced back in October 2019 in honor of the 11th anniversary of the game. Then it was noted that they decided to fix the PC version after they found its source code, which was lost during bankruptcy. THQ in 2013.
In May of this year, Watson left his post as a community developer due to health problems.

“I will continue to work on the patch for as long as I can. Please understand that it is 100% my choice to spend my last days contributing. At the time, Watson could not name a release date for the patch, but noted that the team had achieved tremendous success. The developer also expressed confidence that the patch will meet high expectations and standards. The updated PC version will be free for all owners of the game in Steam
