Bandai namco and studio Supermassive held a special broadcast dedicated to the first showing of the gameplay House of ashes, the new part of the horror anthology The dark pictures… And at the same time they told a number of details about the future project.
We already know about the plot: a detachment of American paratroopers in 2003 is sent to Iraq in search of the notorious chemical weapons. However, instead, he ends up in an underground Sumerian temple, where he faces an even more dangerous threat: bloodthirsty monsters.
The monsters in the game should be the most impressive in the series, using motion capture and hand-animated animation to create them. The fact that the developers have abandoned a fixed camera will also work for immersion, now we will be able to inspect any corners of the locations.
House of Ashes will have three difficulty levels and two versions: as before, the players are preparing a Curator’s Cut. And in the shown gameplay recording, you can see how individual moments differ in different versions. In addition, players will be able to play the game in co-op: for two online or for five in a local network.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes will be released this year on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series. The release date is still unknown.
