Large Japanese animation studio Ufotableknown for working on adaptations of franchises Fat and “Demon Blade“, appeared at the center of a big scandal. During a lengthy investigation company and its leader Hikaru condo accused of appropriation of proceeds and tax evasion. According to published data, Kondo kept part of the money in a personal safe.
The investigation says about a number of Tokyo themed cafes, which, thanks to the actions Hikaru condo, during 2015, 2017 and 2018 were able to hide about 446 million yen (4.097 million dollars) profit and avoid the total payment of taxes in an amount equal to approximately 130 million yen (1.270 million dollars).
Presumably at least part of these funds Kondo spent directly on support Ufotable and its current projects.
To date, management Ufotable made an official statement, within the framework of which she assured that undertakes to pay all existing debt and that in the future the company management plans to optimize the work of all its branches in order to continue to stay afloat and continue to work effectively.
Coming major releases Ufotable are full-length animated films “Fate / Stay Night: Touch of Heaven 3“and”Demon Blade“. How the current situation will affect the future of the studio is now problematic to predict.
