The creator of the game “The Witcher 3” left CD Projekt RED – he was accused of inappropriate behavior in the workplace

Polish studio CD Projekt RED left Konrad Tomashkevich – one of its key employees, who led the production of the cult role-playing game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

According to the publication Bloomberg, the developer’s departure was the culmination of a lengthy internal investigation initiated by the studio amid complaints against Tomashkevich – he was accused of inappropriate behavior in the workplace, creating conflict situations for the entire team

It is noteworthy that as a result of the investigation by CD Project RED, charges against Tomashkevich no confirmation was found… The developer himself also denies complaints in his direction. At the same time, in his farewell letter to the studio staff, which got to the editorial office of Bloomberg, the game designer still asks for forgiveness from his former colleagues, admitting that he did not find a common language with everyone.

“Nevertheless, many of you, working with me, experience unnecessary fear, stress, feel uncomfortable. I apologize for all the conflicts that I could have caused,” Konrad Tomashkevich writes in his farewell letter.

According to the comments of Konrad Tomashkevich himself, his departure from the studio was not a dismissal – he came to a similar decision together with the senior management of CD Projekt. The hero of the news himself told about this in the comments of the editorial staff of Bloomberg. According to the game designer, what happened upset him greatly, but he is not going to give up and “will continue to work on himself“.

In turn, representatives CD Projekt RED leaving the head of the development of the third “Witcher“have not officially commented yet.

In addition to creating The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Konrad Tomashkevich also provided great support in the development of the role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077, which debuted at the end of last year – in the credits he is listed as one of the senior producers and project leaders.
