The final trailer of the triquel appeared on the network “Spells”, and along with it, the reviews of critics arrived – they are lower than those of previous films.
Now the picture has 54 points out of 100 on Metacritic based on 14 reviews. For comparison, the first film had 68 points, and the second had 65. At the same time, in the last two cases, the audience’s ratings were higher – 8.2 and 7.7 points, respectively.
The situation in the third picture is somewhat better on RottenTomatoes – 68% based on 28 reviews. One of the popular complaints about the painting was the authors’ attempt to “reinvent” the familiar formula, which made it go too far from the original ideas.
This point is also mentioned in the texts with positive ratings, and, apparently, it concerns the storyline associated with the Satanists. Others simply point out that the attempts of a new director Michael Chavez (“Curse of the Crying”) failed to complete the trilogy, and the film is inferior to the first two pictures in quality.
Author Variety also added that the tape was the most “calm” of the three, preferring to focus on the two central characters performed by Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson…
And almost all reviewers agree that the work of the actors is the best part of the whole project.
It will be possible to convince or refute the words of critics already this week – on June 4, “The Conjuring 3” will be released in Russia and on HBO Max.
