The Coen brothers will stop making films together – according to composer Carter Burwell, Ethan (63 years old) tired of the filming process, and Joel (66 years old) will continue to work on cinema.
The last joint film of the duo was an anthology about the Wild West – “Ballad of Buster Scruggs“For Netflix. After that, Ethan took a creative break, and Joel began to create his first independent project – “Macbeth“. Its premiere is expected before the end of the year.
At the same time, Burwell hopes that in the future Ethan will still return to the director’s chair. In general, the brothers have a huge bunch of ready-made scripts that are just lying now.
The brothers released their first film together in 1984 – Blood Simple. Since then, they have shot 18 films together, for 16 of which Carter Burwell wrote the music. Among the most famous tapes it is worth noting “The Big Lebowski“,”Fargo“,”No Country for Old Men” and “Iron grip“.
