The City of Lost Heaven – review

Dutch naval engineer Robin Bongaarts, known as MrRobville, has been working on an unusual modification to Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven… The enthusiast, with the help of a team of like-minded people, is trying to recreate the famous “Titanic” in the game.

The virtual ship will be built as realistically as possible in terms of scale, architecture and interiors. The creators want to pay maximum attention to important details, although this does not mean that they are going to reproduce the exact decoration of all cabins and utility rooms.

The Titanic in Mafia will be the setting for a story mission: Tommy Angelo will be sent on it to escort an expensive car intended for Don Salieri’s cousin. Players will be able to examine the ship and even see the scene of its death.

As the ideological mastermind behind the modification admits, he thought that work on the mod would take three months. In September, the project will turn fifteen years old, and the exact date of its release is still unknown.

The modders planned to release the first part of the Mafia Titanic Mod in the second quarter of 2023, but are not sure if they will have time to finish and test the mod.

The future Titanic will be compatible with the original game and its Steam-version. It is also planned to provide compatibility with GOG-version of Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven.
