The first stage of testing is nearing completion.Avengers”, And tests appeared on the network on PS4 and PS4 Pro. The latter has two modes: picture and performance.
The first two versions of the action movie use dynamic resolution to keep the frame rate:
- PS4 – 1080p with occasional drops below
- PS4 Pro (4K) – 1620r with checkerboard rendering
- PS4 Pro (1080p) – 1080r.
In terms of performance, on the base PS4 in most situations tested, the game shows the declared 30 frames per second, but in the mission for the Hulk in the tundra in some battles, FPS can drop down to 18 frames. On average, the game shows 28.27 frames per second.
On PS4 Pro in higher resolution mode, the situation is similar – however, the FPS in the worst moments is noticeably higher. The minimum value was 22 frames, but the average action movie showed 29.44 frames per second.
On PS4 Pro in performance mode, when there is no blocking at 30 FPS, the numbers are the most mixed. In some scenes, the project reaches 60 FPS, while in complex scenes, performance can drop up to 20 frames. On average – 45.75 FPS.
Different frames
In cutscenes, as noted by the authors of the analysis from VG Tech, the resolution is stable – it does not change on either the base PS4 or PS4 Pro.
In general, the “Avengers” normally show themselves on PS4 and PS4 Pro in 4K mode, while the performance mode is better not to touch for now – the FPS spread is too large, which makes the game feel painfully twitchy.
In addition, it is not known how old the build is being used for public testing – it may be several months old.
The second and third stages of the beta will take place over the next two weekends, and the game itself will be released on September 4. By the end of the year it will be updated for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
