In a new interview Axios Gaming studio marketing director Housemarque Mikael Hawari noted that the team has not yet decided how to fix the lack of saves in Returnal…
According to Hawari, the authors tried to get focused and hardcore thinking from the players without saving. Now developers are actively looking for a solution to the problem, but do not yet know what their next steps will be.
As a reminder, Returnal is a first-person shooter with roguelike elements that was released at the end of April only on PS5. Critics greeted the game warmly enough, but journalists and players criticized it for the lack of save.
Returnal can take several hours to play a single playthrough, so players have to leave the PS5 in sleep mode to save progress.
However, this method also led to the loss of progress when Returnal was automatically updated. The authors even asked players to turn off auto-update before the release of patches. Also, game crashes led to the loss of progress.
Earlier, the developers said they hear requests from players to add saves to Returnal.
