PlayStation 4 released demo yesterday morning Final Fantasy VII Remake. Channel Vg tech already familiarized with the game and recorded technical testing, based on which we can conclude that in terms of performance, the demo turned out to be extremely stable.
According to the analysis, the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo uses dynamic resolution at the base Playstation 4 and Playstation 4 pro when displaying images on 4K displays. In this case, the minimum resolution recorded by the PS4 Pro was 2133 x 1200 pixelsand the highest is 2880 x 1620 pixels. If you play on a simple TV with forced disabling of supersampling, the picture will be rendered in native 1920 x 1080 pixels. In the case of the standard version of PS4, the image is scaled from 900p before 1080p.
Using dynamic resolution allowed developers to achieve a stable frame rate. In the demo, even during action scenes with a lot of effects in the frame, the frame rate rarely drops below minimally comfortable 30 FPS.
The analysis is based on a demo, so in the final game everything can be different. However, given that Square Enix postponed the game for the sake of additional polishing, we can expect that the release version will work as smoothly as the demo.
The premiere of the first part of Final Fantasy VII Remake will take place April 10th.
