Stephen Soderbergh was planning to do six seasons of Knickerbocker Hospital

Producer Stephen Soderbergh said that he originally planned to create six seasons of the series Knickerbocker Hospital
As a result, the project lived for two, after which it was closed, but last year the show was suddenly revived. True, the original concept of the sequel was still different. If the new version of the third season continues the story of the doctor Algernon Edwards, then according to Soderberg’s original plan, 50 years should have elapsed between seasons 2 and 3.

The events took place after the Second World War with new characters and actors, and the fifth and sixth seasons would tell about the near future. At the same time, in recent seasons, actors from previous ones participated – but in new roles.

The fate of the updated third season is still in question – Soderbergh has already seen the pilot’s script, which is in the hands of HBO, but it is not clear whether the concept will grow into a full-fledged sequel.
