Star Wars: Squadrons will run on Xbox Series X / S at 120 FPS, PlayStation 5 will not

Company Electronic Arts told with what performance her games will work on Playstation 5, Xbox series x and Xbox series s in backward compatibility mode.

The most significant improvements will receive aerospace action Star Wars: Squadrons on Xbox Series X / S, where the game will be able to run in two modes at once: improved rendering with improved lighting (dynamic 4K / 60 FPS on Series X and dynamic 1440p / 60 FPS on Series S) and improved performance (dynamic 4K / 120 FPS on Series X and dynamic 1440p / 120 FPS on Series S). At the same time, on the new Microsoft consoles, the project will support the technology VRRwhich is responsible for adaptive frame rate synchronization.

As for the PlayStation 5, Star Wars: Squadrons will also receive improved lighting on this console. however, the rest of the performance will match the version for PS4 Pro (dynamic 1440p @ 60fps)

Other EA games:

  • Apex legends – performance boost and dynamic resolution up to 1440p on all new generation STBs. The game will receive more improvements next year;
  • FIFA 21, NHL 21, Madden NFL 21 and Ufc 4 – more stable frame rates and faster downloads. Features of nextgen versions of FIFA 21 and NFL 21, which will be released on December 4th, have not yet been revealed;
  • Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered – performance is similar to old consoles:
    • PlayStation 5 – 4K / 30 FPS or 1080p / 60 FPS
    • Xbox Series X – 4K / 30 FPS or 1080p / 60 FPS
    • Xbox Series S – 1080p / 30 FPS
  • The sims 4 – more stable frame rates and faster downloads.
