Star Citizen developers have changed plans for updating Alpha 4.0 – netcode will not be fixed in June

The authors Star citizen published a development plan in which users noted significant changes outlined in the June update Alpha 4.0 – A few things were moved to the next update or will be added much later.

For example, one of these features is netcode processing. She was delayed to version 4.1. Now the actions of players and AI characters are processed by the client. This means that when you perform some action, the local client performs it and then sends information to the server, after which other users see how this happens. This causes a problem when it comes to cheating. In addition, players do not see your actions correctly if you have an unstable connection at the time of their execution. With the new netcode, information processing will be on the server side.

According to the team, the developers instead focus on putting the worlds and Star Citizen stations on separate servers. Netcode processing was moved to the second quarter of 2023. Coronavirus, by the way, has nothing to do with it.
