Sony will optimize the PlayStation 5 fan through updates

Company Sony going to optimize fan performance Playstation 5 through updates. One of the senior engineers of Sony Interactive Entertainemnt told about this in an interview with the Japanese website 4Gamer Yasuhiro Otori

“There will be different games coming out in the future, and each of them will collect data on APU behavior. We have a plan to optimize fan performance based on this data.”

Recently released PS5 disassembly video showed that the console has a large double-sided suction cooling fan with a diameter of 120 mm and a thickness of 45 mm. To control the rotational speed of the cooler, there are four temperature sensors inside – one is installed on the APU and three more on the main board. The information received from them will just be used to improve the operation of the cooling system with the help of updates.

For example, if it turns out that some game gives an increased load for a long time, then for more efficient cooling Sony can increase the fan speed

The current Playstation 4 has a reputation for being a loud console, and its fan often sounds like an airplane taking off. However, Sony previously noted that the PS5 was designed to make as little noise as possible, and early console tests confirm this.
