The coronavirus epidemic continues to hurt the gaming industry. Following the cancellation E3, Game Developers Conference and Gamescom it became known that organizers of the second largest European gaming exhibition Paris Games Week also decided not to host their event this year.
In a statement published on the Paris Games Week official website, it was reported that the event was to be a jubilee and featured demonstrations of many new releases. However, in connection with the current situation and the resulting technical and logistical difficulties, the organizing committee was forced to revise the plans.
Now, instead of preparing for this year’s exhibition, which was to take place with 23 by 27th October, it was decided to direct all forces to Paris Games Week 2023.
The first Paris Games Week was held in 2010. Throughout the years since its inception, the event has traditionally been held in October-November and has remained the last major exhibition event of the gaming industry of the year. He was visited by dozens of publishers and developers, including Sony. In 2017, the Japanese platform holder announced at this event Ghost of tushusha, and in 2015 presented Ratchet & clank, Gran turismo sport and Detroit: Become Human.
