It is interesting that the developers chose a certain desert location as a location for demonstrating the machine, which had not yet been demonstrated either in trailers or in gameplay. Apparently, together with the River, the authors first showed us a wasteland area outside of Night City, which was told about last summer.
Then the representatives of CDPR confirmed that players will be able to leave the city and go for new quests to explore the wastelands inhabited by a gang of nomads. If you wish, you can join them, or become one of them from the very beginning, choosing the appropriate origin in the character editor. In the second case, the badlands will also be one of several different starting locations.
Cyberpunk 2077 release will take place September 17th.
