Ratchet & Clank’s New Heroine: Rift Apart – Isn’t It a Girl?

In June 2023 at Playstation 5 the game will be released Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apartto truly unleash the power of the next generation console from Sony… However, to the developers from Insomniac Games there is one awkward question.

In Rift Apart, the protagonists embark on a journey through other dimensions, but at some point separate. As a result, Clank runs into a Lombax girl named Rivet (Rivet) from an alternate universe.

The distinctive features of the new heroine are gray fur, a mechanical arm and a fluffy tail. And this is where the catch arises.

According to the story of the episode, the cat-like Lombucks fled from the universe to another dimension. But in the game Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando showed one Lombax girl – Anjelu cross… And she was very different from Rivet.

Angela’s chest could be seen, her ears were much smaller than Ratchet’s, and her tail was completely absent. In audio recordings from the game Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time it was noted that females are distinguished from Lombax males by the complete absence of a tail.

There are three explanations for what happened:

  1. Insomniac Games forgot about the tail (it happens to everyone, in the film franchise “X-Men“the same character was played by an African American and Tyrion Lannister);
  2. Insomniac Games revised the physiology of Lombucks as part of a soft reboot of the entire franchise (the most sane option);
  3. IT’A TRAP!
