Chief Technical Architect for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 Mark Cerny will receive a special award from the hands CEDEC Awards for achievements in the field of game development and entertainment technologies.
CEDEC Awards – Japanese award recognizing outstanding developers and games since 2008… Prior to that, Hideo Kojima, Shigeru Miyamoto, Masahiro Sakurai, Hironobu Sakaguchi and many others became its laureates, but Cerni will become the first foreign figure to receive this award.
Representatives of the CEDEC Awards commented on the decision to award Cerny with an honorary prize:
“Mr. Cerny has been active in the design of several generations of PlayStation, creating a platform with great gaming experiences, and has also been involved in many of the hits that have become the face of PlayStation, such as Crash Bandicoot and Ratchet & Clank.”
The awards ceremony will take place on 25 August.
