Photo: Taking a closer look at the memory expansion card and Xbox Series X controller

Edition The verge already got our hands on the pre-release sample Xbox series x… In anticipation of a full preview, portal editor Tom Warren has published an interim material with a more detailed look at the controller and memory expansion card for the new console.

Controller:

At first glance, the new controller doesn’t look much different from the old one, but there are a few key changes. The gamepad has become a little smaller and has a slightly different shape, the cross has been redesigned and now resembles that of the elite version, and the surface of the case has become a little more textured. The biggest innovations are the USB-C port and the new Share button for saving screenshots and video clips. Microsoft continues to use AA batteries for batteries, and a rechargeable battery is available as an option for $ 25.

Memory expansion card:

Slightly larger than a standard SD card. It fits into the console like a flash drive without any complex manipulations, protruding slightly from the case, while offering performance similar to the SSD built into the console. Ordinary hard drives can also be used as external storage, but in this case, you can play with them exclusively in old games. If the project has been updated and received improvements using the new Xbox Velocity storage architecture, then it can be installed only on an internal SSD or a branded Xbox Series X memory card.

At the moment, only one external 1TB card from Seagate has been announced. The official cost has not yet been disclosed. Commercial network Best Buy offers to pre-order a card at a price 212 dollars (16,380 rubles at the current rate)
