Officially: Bill Gates leaves Microsoft’s board of directors

Co-founder and former largest shareholder Microsoft Bill Gates continues to smoothly retire. According to the press service of the IT giant, the billionaire resigned from the board of directors in order to fully focus on his charity projects.

However, Gates continue to advise on technology issues the head of Microsoft Sathya Nadella.

“I am grateful to Bill for his friendship and look forward to continuing to work together to realize our mission to expand the capabilities of each person and each organization on the planet to achieve more significant goals,” Nadella explained.

Bill Gates led Microsoft until 2008, after which he left the post to focus on development Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In 2014, he left the post of head of the board of directors of the company.
