Twitch expanded the approach to behavior outside the service to clarify that it will now punish users for actions only outside the platform.
The list of punishable acts, even if they occur entirely outside of Twitch, includes:
- death violence and armed extremism;
- terrorist activity or recruitment;
- real and / or highly probable threats of mass violence (i.e. threats to a group of people, threats to an event or place of gathering of people);
- being a member of or leading a group found to be hateful;
- participation or complicity in sexual coercion and / or sexual violence;
- sexual exploitation of children, including molestation, as well as coercion to create or disseminate materials of a sexual nature involving children;
- Activities that directly and unequivocally threaten the physical safety of members of the Twitch community, such as threatening violence at a Twitch event;
- real and / or highly credible threats against Twitch and Twitch employees.
The list does not include all types of harassment and insults, and a law firm with extensive experience in independently investigating incidents at the workplace or at the place of study helps the internal team to investigate violations outside the service.
Twitch also increased the number of its law enforcement liaison team and created a dedicated email address for reporting gross violations outside of the service.
Twitch guarantees the confidentiality and privacy of all parties involved and has stated that it will only take action if there is evidence.
