New record: Resident Evil Village started on Steam better than all previous games in the series

Horror Resident Evil: Village showed the largest launch on Steam among all the games in the series… This is evidenced by the statistics of concurrent players tracked through the SteamDB service.

At the moment, the peak online Resident Evil: Village has already exceeded 81,000 users and the number continues to grow, and only half a day has passed since the release.

The previous record was held by remake Resident evil 2, which reached 74 thousand online players on the second day of release. At the same time, in comparison with the seventh part, the novelty started four times better.… The peak indicator of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard on the Valve platform was 20 thousand simultaneously playing. Last year’s Resident Evil 3 launched on Steam at 60K.

If you look at all Capcom games, the absolute record holder for the company is still Monster Hunter: World, which attracted 334 thousand players at the same time on the release. This is followed by Devil May Cry 5 with an indicator of 88 thousand, but, apparently, in the next few hours it will take its place Resident Evil: Village.
