More than half of the respondents chose the answer “RS”, saying on which platform their latest project was released, what they plan to release the game they are working on now, and what they have in their plans for the future.
Platforms, which will be the current project developers
More than 10% of developers are already working on games for next-generation consoles. At the same time, the PlayStation 5 leads with a slight advantage: 11% of respondents are already making a game for it, and 23% are still gathering. For the new Xbox Series X, these numbers are 9% and 17%.
At the same time, only 5% of respondents are sure that their game will be released only on new consoles. More than a third are going to release their project simultaneously on different platforms, including the current generation consoles.
Developers creating games for current and next generation consoles
As for other platforms, interest in them is not so high. 17% of developers are going to release the game on Nintendo Switch, 6% are doing projects for Google Stadia, and 3% for Project xCloud. 15% of respondents create a game for VR, but only 7% – for AR.
